    Vlookup resulting in REF#

Having some problems with a simple vlookup formula.

    Never experiened this before.

    I keep getting a #ref

Here is the forumla I am using

    =VLOOKUP("JK09",Feb!A2:A9,13)

What I am expecting is for excel to look up the value of "JK09" within the range of A2:a9 within the worksheet Feb, and when it finds it it will give me the value in coloum 13 of the macthing row.

    Atatched is the spreadsheet

Your table_array (A2:A9) is one column thus the column you're referring to (13) does not exist in the range... so you must adjust the table_array so as to encompass the column to be returned, ie A2:M9

    (alternatively consider INDEX / MATCH)

    Should be:

    =VLOOKUP("JK09",Feb!A2:M9,13)

You have to incorporate the whole range in the lookup range.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

    Re: Vlookup resulting in REF#

    Quick answer:

A2:A9 is only one column. You require the 13th column.
    VLOOKUP(lookup_value,table_array,col_index_num,range_lookup)
    VLOOKUP("JK09",Feb!A2:A9,13)

    Use:

    =VLOOKUP("JK09",Feb!A2:M9,13,FALSE)

    Re: Vlookup resulting in REF#

You must use FALSE / 0 here given your data values are unsorted.

Re: NA error - JK09 is not found on Feb sheet, only JK09_ where _ is a space, so

    B81: =VLOOKUP(A81&" ",Feb!A2:M9,13,FALSE)

OR revise the value in A81 (etc) such that it matches the values found on the source sheets
