UK Date not displayed correctly in cell

I have generated an Excel spreadsheet from a report, in which before export, the date is formatted and displayed in UK format (dd/mm/yyyy).

Once it has been exported, and is opened in Excel though, the cells display the US format.

I have changed all my settings to UK format on my computer, and can report similar behaviour in the UK on an English(UK) install.

The odd behaviour here is that if I highlight a cell, the formula cell displays the correct UK formatted date as shown in the screen capture.

Any ideas here?

When you look at the specific cell formatting - what is the format type?

Are you able to upload an example version of your data (cleaned of course)

Hmmm...I see the data entered on the formula var as it is viewed...in MM/DD/YYYY format and not as shown in your image.

Perhaps because I removed columns and saved it.
