Lose order of conditional formatting when copying worksheet

    Hi all,

When I copy a Worksheet (i.e Sheets("test").Copy After:=Sheets("Sheet1")), I loose the order of my conditional formating rules.

For instance, the order of conditional formating rules of my new sheet called "test (2)" is not the same with the ones of sheet called "test".

    Do you have an idea?

    Thanks

    Cheers

    David

    Hi David,

I don't get the problem with my Excel 2003. Are you using 2007 by any chance?

Could you upload a sample workbook so that we can check the problem in context?

Yes. I am using Excel 2007.

I have attached a Excel file. You can replicate the issue by copying the "equipment" sheet.

You will see that the conditional formating order is not the same between these two sheets.

    Thanks for your help

    Cheers

Re: Lose order of conditional formatting when copying worksheet

    Hello David,

That's a new one on me. I've never observed it before and I can't see anything noted on the MS web site. It certainly looks like a bug.

The interesting thing is that if you don't have the 'stop if true' boxes ticked, then copying the sheet behaves exactly as you would expect. So unless you have some desperate need for a rule order I'd be inclined to untick them.

Interesting though and thanks for spotting it!

Is it possible to re arrange the order with a macro?

    Thanks
