same width:Drop Down List

How do I align a drop down list so that the list is the same width as the cell it was selected from. See screen shot. TIA

I've scoured the internet and it does seem to be a glitch in Excel. Still haven't found the answer though !

I think Debra's site explains it quite well.
I tried to duplicate the problem like she did and I did manage to get the problem once,when the list was from Merged cells. But when I reset the data validation , I couldn't get the problem to happen again.
