Check two cells, display error message if one blank

I relatively new to excel and would like help on the following. I would like to check a cell and if it has a value in it, check a second cell. If the first cell has a value, then the second cell is required. If the second cell is blank, would like to display an error message.

    Please see attached example.

    Thanks, Ron

    Hi,

Maybe something like this in D4 copied over to I4

    =IF(AND(D2="x",D3=""),"Input Needed","")
