i want to extract the bracket text in B1

Maybe like this

=MID(A1,FIND("(",A1)+1,FIND(")",A1)-FIND("(",A1)-1)

=MID(A1,FIND("(",A1,1)+1,LEN(A1)-FIND("(",A1,1)-1)

zbor, that only works if the text in brackets is at the end of the string. Richard's and my version work for the brackets anywhere inside the string. Try it out on

KA SUTHAR (Ind) and some text

OPs hardly ever tell you the full story first time round....
