    Broken Links

I have excel 2007 workbook that has one worksheet that is linked to a sql database, in another worksheet I have linked cells to the worksheet that contains the database values. Everything was working fine until I needed to add some new columns to the database. I could find away to updated the worksheet with new columns, so I deleted the cells where the database values where at, and reinserted them in the same cells, and I had my new columns, but now all my links on the other worksheet have =data!#ref! . Is there a way I can avoid having to retype all of my broken link

    Thks

    Re: Broken Links

It'd probably be best to start over and, instead of deleting the cells, copy and paste over the database values. Without knowing how the links were setup, it's impossible to answer your question in a more detailed way. If they were ordered such as =data!A1 in A1 of Sheet2, and =data!B1 in B1, etc., you could just type =data!A1 in A1 and copy down and across as needed, but that would just recreate the sheet.

    Re: Broken Links

I didn't want to have to rebuild the worksheet since it had several hundred links, so what I did was create a new worksheet, inserted my database connection in to it, then did a find and replace on the worksheet that has the links, and pointed them to the new worksheet.
