Could you please update the attachment to show the result you want? I don't know whether you want a list of all such payments, a total of all such payments, all such payments highlighted, etc. Thanks.

    Thanks.

It's called conditional formatting. Check out the rule I created by selecting one of the cells in your statements in B and then clicking on conditional formatting. You can simply adjust the format and "GAS" to be whatever you want for the rest of your categories.

Is it possible to get all such payments separate entries from each month bank statements, so I can copy all sorted entris of such payments and paste it to on another sheet. This way I can make sure my self that all 12 months payment has made for a specific expense.

Yes, just adjust the formulas I had put in both the cell and conditional formatting rule for each new category you need. You should note that in 2003, there is a limit of 3 rules for conditional formatting. You can have a "fourth rule" of a default format. Without VBA, you can't have more than this unless you have access to 2007.

I have office 2007 too. I hope you get my idea. This time I want to sort all 12 months entries of such payment, Not SUM up, just sort copy and paste to other sheet. Forexample, I want to sort all "GAS" expenses from all my bank statements, Copy relvant amount of each payments of GAS bill, then I want to paste all 12 entries of GAS payments on another sheet at once. I hope this clarify u more.

Pls let me know how to carry out this in office 2007.

Re: Find Specific withdraw entries from Bank Statements

Here's one easy suggestion: type in =ROW() in row 1 of a blank column and copy down as far as you need for the statements. Copy and paste that column as values. Then, grab from column A through that column and sort by B. All your gas payments, Visa payments, etc., will be grouped together, so you can copy and paste them easily. When you're done, you can just resort by the column that has numbers in it and your statements reappear as they were before. There is a way to do this with formulas, but I'm not all that good with combining Search with Index/Match functions like this. Maybe one of the other gurus here could provide a solution. (Hint: If you prefer a function-only solution, it would be best to start a new thread, as this one has several entries in it, which normally is a sign that a long history exists and a solution is near.)

I don't understand why, given your Location, you have to worry about paying bills. Especially a Gas bill.

    Hi,

I just came to a problem while using your suggested formula. Your Formula works accurately if its first word of my bank statement entry.Example, "Amco Internet" I can use your formula this way= sumif(b:b,"Amco*",c:c). This way I can SUM my bell internet expense. But when I use the formula this way =sumif(b:b,"internet*",c:c)...its not work. Pls suggest me what I need to change in formula if I want to use function SUMIF with word internet.
    Thanks.
