What am I doing wrong??

Hi,

I've used Excel for many years and I'm accustomed to entering simple formulas to perform basic calculations, but I can't get the most basic formula to work! I have a column of numbers that I want to add to get a mathematical total. In the past I've always done it like this:

=sum(reference the desired cells) enter

But every time I do it I keep getting a total of ZERO!! The cells are all formatted for currency and I swear I've done this successfully THOUSANDS of times! What am I missing here?

Never mind, I figured it out. i just realized all the cells had an extra space in them that was screwing up the formula...
