A way for not to mess up the linking after some columns are deleted in source file

    Hi,

Currently our working files had reached its limit, ie nearly the last column is being used. so we plan to delete columns for previous years, ie column D to P was for year 1997. however, we worry that the linking will go haywire.

Is there a way to delete the columns while the linking for those latter year ie 2009, 2010 not being affected?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Obviously if you have formulas linked to columns D:P then these formulae will either return errors or presumably inaccurate results - it all depends on how you are using them. Later years should not be affected.

If you need to preserve them can't you cut and paste them into another worksheet?
