    Smile Mass rename tabs

I have 4 employees by 52 weeks tabs in a workbook. The first 4 tabs are as follows:
    Pat 010810
    Dan 010810
    Max 010810
    Ann 010810

I would like some method (maybe VBA?) that I can rename the subsequent tabs, having the same names but the date with a seven day increment; i.e.the next tab would show Ann 011510, etc.

I don't know how to code, but can get to the VBA page and copy really well.

Thank you very much for any help with this.

    Hi kisboros,

This macro will do your job.

Please Login or Register to view this content.

Refer the attached file. Don't forget to enable macros & make sure that the first four sheets of your workbook are what you mentioned.

If you have dependencies across sheets it's probably worth toggling calculation as part of the process...

    Hi Karan,
Do I understand it correctly that I can just run your macro for my purpose?
    Thank you very much,

    Hi Donkyote,
For the time being there are no dependencies; however, if there were, what does your instruction exactly mean?
    Thanks very much,
    Eva

    Hi Karan,
I copied and pasted your code into VBA and it worked like a champ! Thanks so much. I guess it would be beneficial to take a VBA class!

for more info. on Volatile actions triggering recalculation see the link in my sig. (from which above quotation is taken)
