    Validation or define problem

    Hi!
    I have two file! i try to use define-name to link the both file,
    Basically two file
    1is supplier list i have made the define of coca cola sheet of coke list and K & N list in chicken item
    2 Data base i want to link all the supplier head in supplier coloumn

    I spend a lot of time to solve that query.
    Kindly solve my problem.
    is there any idea i welcome.

    See attached..

    You have to have the Supplier List workbook open to work initially.

    You need to create a list of the suppliers (I put that in Sheet3 of Database)
    Then name that list: Suppliers

    Then apply DataValidation to D9 with List.
    Then Source is: =Suppliers



    Then, in the Supplies List workbook, you need to name your lists so that the Supplier name is contained within..

    I used names, CocaColaList and KNList

    Then in E9 of Database use Data Validation List with Source: =INDIRECT(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE("'Supplier List.xls'!"&$D$9&"List","-",""),"&",""))

    this takes care of names with dashes and & symbols (which are not allowed in Named ranges)..

    Note: If you intend to work with closed Suppliers List workbook, you will need to add the path to the red part of the formula above...

    I CHECK THE FILE AND YOUR REPLY..

    What i need, I again attached the file and give you format of what I need.
    Basically i need in Inventory you find the Supplier NAME in Inventory workbook. i need that it Automatically detect the supplier name (i.e)cocacola, KandNfood,which i creat the group and define the product name.
