Count instances in column

I am attempting to use the code posted at http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...-a-column.html
When I use it instead of getting a sum I get "=COUNTIF(C[-1],RC[-1])
" shown in column C.
my column B looks like:
32000-025
90001-104
32000-029
32000-025
32000-043
32000-078
32000-028
32000-023
NOT FITTED
NOT FITTED
NOT FITTED
NOT FITTED
NOT FITTED
32000-029

32000-029
32000-025
32000-029
32000-025
and I want to count the instances of each unique entry.

that does not make sense.

which cell is the first data cell in column "B",according to that cell name u have to change my formula.for example i have put "B1" but your actual cell may be another one...
