Inserting several "Filter" (/"Sort & Filter") in the same sheet

    Hello all,

I want to use several "Filters" (/"Sort & Filter") in the same sheet. I have three different blocks, like this:

    Product class I:

    Product A // Design A-1 // Price A-1 // Design A-2 // Price A-2
    Product B // Design B-1 // Price B-1 // Design B-2 // Price B-2
    Product C // Design C-1 // Price C-1 // Design C-2 // Price C-2

    Product class II:

    Product P // Design P-1 // Price P-1 // Design P-2 // Price P-2
    Product Q // Design Q-1 // Price Q-1 // Design Q-2 // Price Q-2
    Product R // Design R-1 // Price R-1 // Design R-2 // Price R-2

    Product class III:

    Product X // Design X-1 // Price X-1 // Design X-2 // Price X-2
    Product Y // Design Y-1 // Price Y-1 // Design Y-2 // Price Y-2
    Product Z // Design Z-1 // Price Z-1 // Design Z-2 // Price Z-2

I simply want one filter per Product class (so that I can filter out the wanted product with designs&prices, from each class seperately). However, Excel only seems to allow me to have one single filter for the whole sheet.

    Is there a solution?

    Thanks in advance!

Re: Inserting several "Filter" (/"Sort & Filter") in the same sheet

    1) Make sure there is at least one empty row between each table of values.
    2) Click in the first table
    3) Press CTRL-L to activate the "List Wizard" and follow the prompts to activate it on the first table
    4) Click on each table and repeat the process

Now you have an active "List" in each table, and one of the features of "Lists" is a set of filters for each one.

    Thank you for your answer!

I tried your tip, and it seems to work. One problem remains though:

Every single column is assigned a drop-down/filter -list, but I only want this for the first column (i.e. only beeing able to choose the "Product", not any of the other parameters).

    Thanks in advance!

    Thank you for your answer!

One last thing (please see the attached temp.jpg):

when I apply "CTRL-L -function", the result is as in the attached temp.jpg. That is, in the second group the previously merged cells are unmerged and colored blue! Moreover, an empty cell is automatically (& unwantedly) inserted below the drop-down-list.

Interesting is, that when I copy-paste the second group into another, empty sheet, everything works fine! (see temp2.jpg).

    How can I avoid this?

    Thanks in advance!

I should still add that after carrying out CTRL-L, the concerned cells can no longer be merged back!

Okey, I guess there will be no more merging then.
