Good morning orlanowich
...and welcome to the forum!!
I answered a very similar question to this a few months back (crikey! - I've just found it and it was last July - where has that time gone?!?!?!).
Have a look at this thread and see if it helps.

Hi orlanowich,
welcome to the forum.
it's never a good idea to delete a value after it has been used in a calculation, because you lose the audit trail.
Can you step back and explain in a wider context what you would like to achieve?
Hi teylyn
That's a very valid point, however my example file in the thread I pointed to does indeed maintain an audit trail.
Pesky auditors, they come around, nosing about asking stupid questions and making the most inane, ridiculous suggestions ... they reallly make my blood boil ...
The mention of the word makes me cross!

Ouch. Dominic, I wasn't just thinking about auditors re the audit trail. But my blood starts simmering whenever a piece of data is added to a total and then deleted. If the user comes back from a coffee break, they can't remember if they've just entered the number on the top of the stack or not ...
Good to know that your link includes that trail, then. Not just for the auditors, but for the user, too!
Hi teylyn
Do'nt try being nice to me now. You've already ruined my day. And it's not even dinner time yet.
Auditors. Pah.
Anyway, read a few of your posts today, and your comment on J-Walk's site and you're really on your soap box aren't you. Do you have a cob-on today or something?
Anyway, I'll probably get three infractions from you and one of your famously harsh bans (about 6 months) for :
(a) being lippy to a moderator
(b) hijacking someone elses thread
(c) mentioning Auditors (aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrggghhh)
DominicB
OMG! What did I write? ... rushing off to jWalk's site ... Oh, THAT one! I stand by every word. And I didn't even mention merged cells!!
Oh, and this bit is relative:It's after midnight here. And it's not even dinner time yet.
