    scatter chart labelling

Hi, I'm not sure if I can do this but I have a series of companies that I need to be labelled as the company but to have a Legend and for the data labels to be coloured as column D not as the X and Y labels (so all companies that are Lloyds - onshore are 1 colour and New Bermudian another colour)

Is there a way anyone knows of that I can do this?

labels Value X Value Y Legend
    Ace 17.4 0.89 Traditional Bermudian
Allied World 2.3 0.71 New Bermudian
    Amlin 3.2 1.31 Lloyds - Onshore
    Arch 4.1 1.05 New Bermudian
    Argo 0.9 0.57 New Bermudian
    Aspen 2.2 0.83 New Bermudian

Thanks for the response Andy (I'm a huge fan of your excel site by the way and use it often!!!)

The problem is though is the data labels are Lloyds/Trad Bermudian etc when I need the labels in the scatter chart to be the company names (column A) but to have them coloured as the Legend is.. it may not be possible mind?

    Thank you!

Use the chart labeller to link data labels to cells. Then format data labels as required.
