    Populate Excel report from Database

I have a business requirement to generate a report every X hours. The report should be in Excel and populated from data in a SQL Database. This report would then be emailed to a receipient.

I am not a programmer and I am looking for the best business solution. Any help advice would be appreciated.

I would start by looking at Get External Data and setting the Connection Properties to refresh every 120 minutes for 2 hours or whatever time interval you want.

To automate this further to include emailing you will need some code so use the macro recorder to generate it.

I don't think you will record email code, but there's plenty of code already posted.
    Hope that helps.

I have tried to build a versatile SQL tool that works inside Excel. The name is SQL*XL and it will give you full database access from within Excel. Perhaps you want to give it a try!
