    Try =IF(D2="","",VLOOKUP(D2,$I$2:$J$5,2,0)) copied down.

    If you want to formulas to autopopulate as you go, then use the List feature in the DATA menu. It will enclose your current range in a blue outline, when you click on the row with and asterisk, it will open the line for you to type... the formula will autopopulate in column E.
