Change a default keyboard shortcut setting?

There is a keyboard formatting shortcut that I want to use more often, but it does not format the way I like.

That is the Date formatting combination Control+Shift+#.

Currently it is formatting dates as 11-Apr-17. I would like it to format as 4/11/2017.

Does anyone know how to change this?

With one exception I have checked every kind of setting I know of. I find nothing within Excel, systems settings or by Googling.

The one thing I have not explored is Regedit. (I approach that cautiously and only with expert guidance.)

I prefer not to assign a keyboard shortcut to a macro. (Clearing the Undo stack.)

If you know how to make this happen or can redirect me to someone who does I would appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Edit BTW: I failed to mention I am using Excel 2013 on Win10 at the moment. 2007 advise is also welcome.

    Finally! I stumbled across this.

Apparently it can not be done.

    If anyone is interested.
