    Asterisk as WildCard

    Hi,

    I believe the asterisk can be used as a wildcard, but I'm having some problems with my formula.

    This always results in false. I know I could write this using the LEFT formula, but I'm trying to minimize the the levels of nesting if possible. Any ideas?

    Re: Asterisk as WildCard

    The asterisk wildcard does not work with arguments separated by = sign.

    It works with comma separated arguments like in Countif or Sumif

    e.g. =Countif(A1:A100,"standard*")
    Where there is a will there are many ways.
