    Compatibility

Can you tell me the differences when saving a workbook as an excel workbook, macro-enabled work book or binary workbook?

I have been working in excel 2007 and need to save the workbook as 97-2003 compatiblity. But a warning comes up about it not being compatible and that there will be a minor loss of fidelity. I was wondering if I can save the workbook as one of the ways I previously mentioned or if my spreadsheet will be ok if I agree to the compatiblity checker. Thanks for the help.

    Re: Compatibility

If you save it as a 2007 xlxs file, macro enabled, xlam, or binary file, xlsb, you will not be able to open it in Excel 2003 unless you have installed the 2007 compatibility pack. Even then you could find some fidelity loss when you open it in 2003, or some of the newer form ulae just not working.

Best to save it as 97-2003.
