    Tertiary vertical axis

Is it possible to add a third vertical axis with an independent scale to a line graph? Thanks

    This should help you!

That makes absolutely no sense to me. Please clarify.

And nevermind again, there's nothing in the link about how to do it. It simply recommends not doing it.

I expect Sweep's point was that it shows several recommended alternatives.

    Re: Tertiary vertical axis

One way to see your response surface graphically is to create a matrix on your worksheet with x values along the bottom side and Y values along the left side. Using your equation z = f(x,y) plug the computed values into the middle of the matrix. Then create a surface chart. It will blow you away.

I had that link in my internet bookmarks. As is said at the top of the page, there used to be information there. Sorry for not checking.

    Re: Tertiary vertical axis

Although Jon has removed the explanation of how to create the tertiary axis these pages use a very similar approach.

    http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/ArbitraryAxis.html

Basically you create the axis yourself with dummy series.
