simple charting through Pivot table data

Assuming you have a table of data . . .

• Select any cell in the table
• Click "Insert" on the ribbon menu
• Click the drop down under the Pivot Table icon
• Choose Pivot Chart and answer the fields in the dialog about where to place the Pivot Table/Chart
• When the Pivot Table field list appears, drag the field of choice to the Report Filter (this will be the Page Field)
• Drag the field, whose values you want to plot, to Values section of the dialog.
