Creating a set of 500 Random Numbers (alphanumeric if possible)

Hello, I'm new to these forums. I would like to create a set of 500 random alphanumeric characters (if too hard numbers only will do) 6 characters long. I've been "google-ing" for quite a while now and my eyes are beginning to glaze over. I'm not sure if I'm searching the wrong thing but hopefully someone here can help and let me know if this is possible.

I'm not sure if this is something Excel can do but I recall University profs talking about assigning random values in excel to each students name all the time.

I'm not particularly competent with programming or anything technical in that sense, so please go easy on me

Welcome to the forum.

In some cell and copy down, =RANDBETWEEN(111111,999999)

If you get a #NAME? error, Tools > Add-Ins, tick Analysis ToolPak

Hi shg, thanks for the post! Is there any way to get these numbers to stay permanently? Everytime I do something in another cell they all change. Each number will be assigned to coupon and then anyone claiming the coupon will have their respective invoice number posted in the cell adjacent. If a code is used that already has an invoice number assigned it will be void.

Any ideas?
