Extra line on scatter graph which shouldn't be there.

    Hi All,

    Here's hoping someone can help.

I've just plotted this scatter curve in excel 2007 and it's not right. The data is correct but there is an extra line showing between x=1 and x=2. I can't work out why it is there.

How do i get rid of it?

    Much appreciated,

    Dan.

The additional line is there because your data series is not in order from smallest to largest values. Have a look at your x-axis values. The values range from 0 through to 1.80 and then they drop to 1.00 and increase again. As a result your curve line increases in value, loops back and then increases again creating that extra line you dont desire.

Put your values in order and it will disappear.
