Using Countif in the Calculated Field of Pivot Table

Hello,

I just want to know if this idea is applicable...

I have a data of time duration for breaks and lunches per names dated in a daily basis and in a pivot table format; i want to add a calculated field wherein it counts the number of instances a name goes on overbreak for breaks and lunches. i tried using countif in the calculated field but it was unsuccessful. Is there any other way?
