Deleting Or Leaving Specific Number Of Characters

    Hello there everybody,
    1) I need a specific macro to be able to delete everything but the first 5 characters inside every cell in a whole column
    2) I need a specific macro that will delete only the first 8 characters and leave the rest in every cell in a whole column.

I'll appreciate your help guys since i need 3000 cells to delete manually

    Hi,

There's no need at all for a macro to do this.

    1) =left(A1,5)

    2) =right(a1,len(a1)-8)

copied down the length of data
    Rule 1: Never merge cells
    Rule 2: See rule 1
