    Please can someone help me with highlighting duplicate names in a column of surnames.

    EG

    Smith
    Brown
    Jones
    Davies
    Fred
    Smith

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Hi centwistle,

    use conditional formatting with Formula Is

    =COUNTIF($A$1:$A$6,A1)>1

    Adjust ranges to suit.
