    Conditionally Format a Pivot Table

Is it possible to conditionally format a pivot table. I have a worksheet with all of our clients and their states and products. We have some business rules that don't allow me to provide the clients name for some states so I am trying to provide a generic name to the client name like MN 1, MN 2 for those states so that I can count the number of transactions per product with out showing the clients name. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to accomplish this without having to do all the names in each state manually.

    Thanks

I don't understand - conditional formats can be applied to pivot table cells, but what you describe doesn't fit with my understanding of conditional formatting. If anything, a pivot table would be an ideal way (in my understanding) of obfuscating client details as would be simplyu not to include them in the pivot - perhaps I'm misunderstanding...?

    Conditionally Format a Pivot Table

I figured it out. I did it a little differently by assigning a # to each unique client and concatenating that # with the state abbr.

They want the report to show the same total as the report by state without the client name so I can't remove them from the pivot. I thought if I conditionally formated the pivot table I could easily change the clients name, but I couldn't get the pivot table to format the clients name green if the state = one on my rescricted states.
