Excel 2007 : Message that error in formula when I am not entering a formula.

I have inherited a spreadhseet, which I have cleared of all formats, formulae etc. Whevener I try to enter note in the cell I get the message saying that the formula contains an error - strange given that i am simple trying to write a short note.

a number (say 25 units) or a number followed by a % (say 25%). Thanks.

Hi,

Open your workbook, then open a new workbook. Click a cell in your new workbook, click the Paintbrush icon, go to your other workbook click the cell that is giving you the problem, then trying typing 25% again.

Did that work?
