Question Ignoring comment line in a CSV

I am using a program to generate a CSV that I will read in Excel (I am using 2007). I'd like to be able to write comment lines in the file that are ignored by Excel when it opens. Is this possible?

For example maybe the CSV would look something like this if the "#" symbol could denote a comment:

    # this was created May 9th
    col1,col2,col3
    4,5,6
    6,4,9

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Ignoring comment line in a CSV

I would think it's much less maintenance to simply open the CSV file and delete the lines with # at the beginning.
