    Formula not showing zeros

Hello. I have the formula =A2&".jpg" to ad the jpg to my item numbers, which my item numbers are the image for that item. I am running into a problem. If the item number is 001234 it is changing to 1234.jpg What would be the remedy for this? All item numbers are 12 characters long (UPC) and many of them start with zeros. In the item column i have the format cell custom--> 000000000000 so it will show the upc/item number in that column.....

Instead of using cell custom have you tried text under cell formatting? if I am not mistaken this is one way to have the extra zero's to show.

Change your formula to =A2, then change the format to 000000000000".jpg"

    =TEXT(A2,"00000000000")&".jpg"
    Does that work for you?

That worked thank you! Is there a way to save custom <-format cells?

I am not sure what you mean. If you mean add this format to the custom format list, then it already is "saved", or at least it is saved for this workbook. If you mean add it to the excel application so that it is always available, then read this site.

Once you create a custom format, it should always be available to you.

What do you mean by "Always". Always within the same workbook, or always meaning any workbook you create or open? If you mean the second, then I disagree. I just created a custom format, saved and closed the workbook. I opened a new workbook and went to the custom list and could not find my custom format.

Whiz, you're right. Not sure what I was thinking.
