    Conditioning? Curent date and time

I am not sure if they would be conditional formatting or some type of code.

    I attached a screen shot.

Task: I want to have the current date and time show up in Column J, if any value is entered in Column K (it has a header row).

In the example in picture, If I enter Machine in K2, then I would like the current date and time in J2.

    Thanks for any help..

so basically you want a time stamp? otherwise it will change every time the workbook recalculates.

Ok, let me try that. I'll read about inserting code.

Once you said time stamp, I was able to do some reading.

I just realized another problem, that plays into this.

The list is a list of about 200 employees. So once, I have gone through the list once,
I'll have to make another set of columns for time and time/date, action, strikes and ID.
I am wondering if a formula would work better since this variable.

    thanks
