Pivot Table filter with added fields?

    Guys,

I need help with a pivot table I am trying to do an employee breakdown based on years of service.

However I want it broken down like below

    1-5
    5-10
    10-15
    15-20
    20+

if I do "Count of classification" it gives me 116 (which is my total employees).

if I do "Average years of Service" it gives me the years of service per classification.

However I already have that chart. I am trying to make it show a different way and I dont have fields for 1-5 5-10 10-15 etc

I want it to look like below

    1-5 - 48
    5-10 - 31
    10-15 - 8
    15-20 - 11
    20+ - 18
    total - 116

    how could I do this?

    Matt

Re: Pivot Table filter with added fields?

I have added a photo of my current pivot table

All I am trying to do is make the 1st column show

    0-4
    5-10
    11-15
    16-20
    21+

    instead of

show each year I want it as a group.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I've tried something that works. You set it as "Count of classification" like you did. To get the year ranges on the left column I right-clicked Row Label and selected

    Group and show details-> Group...

Then in the grouping window you set what range you want (Starts at 1 and finish at 30 for example with a step of 5 years.

I use Excel 2003 but your solution is the grouping option.
