Extracting Date/Time from 1 cell

I have a column of cells that look like:
20090715130836

Which are I am assuming broken into
YYYY MM DD HH MM SS

Can anyone tell me how to extract the information from this on cell into Yr Mnth Day Time

Do you need the value converted to a true date time value, ie:

=TEXT(A1,"0000-00-00 00\:00\:00")+0
format as yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss

or do you want the various elements split out ?

I would prefer to split them if possible.

Basically these are login times for a system and we are trying to find out how many people are logging into the system in 15 minute intervals. I know how to break it into 15 intervals once i get the data extracted. But i have forgotten how to do this.
