Discard Picture Resizing Information - Reduce File Size

I have several very very small images in my spreadsheet. They all have reset information back to their original size, which is larger than I will ever need. This is making my file size HUGE. Is there a way to discard that information so that the images are only as big as they are in the spreadsheet? Essentially discard the resizing history so there is NO reset and thus make the file a little smaller?

There are way too many images to resize the source file and reload these.

I tried compressing the images, and when it finally seemed to work and reduce the file size, the file started acting wonky. The images kept blinking, everything was lagging, and I had to revert to an older file.

    Thanks in advanced!!

    Good evening tbirdie

    ...and welcome to the forum!!

You will need to use image editing software to reduce the actual size / resolution of the image.
    Then bring it into Excel.

Excel help documents reference a way to get rid of "hidden sizing information" after you have resized an image. Is there no way to do this without reloading images? We are talking about 800 small thumbnails, all pulled from a QT, and there is no way I have the time to do it all over again.

Not sure what the difference is between compress and resolution on mine... I only see compress as an option. This is what I mentioned trying before that caused the file to corrupt. It only briefly mentions discarding old sizing info, but it doesn't say HOW to do this. Boo.
