    protecting cells/colums from being edited

    Hi

    I've got two columns,

    B1 is Estimated Hours
    C2 is Actual Hours.

How can I protect B1 from being edited. Only person that can edit is myself or the foreman.

C2 may require protection and the only person entering the hours is the accounts department.

How would I actually protect those two columns.

You need to turn on sheet protection using the Protect Sheet. If you want to not protect all other cells you need to select those cells and format them. On the Protection Tab in the Format Cells dialog box, uncheck the Locked check.

If it is only columns B and C that need protecting, you can select the entire sheet and then format all the cells selected at one time. Uncheck the Protection. Then select columns B and C and Format their cells with a check in protection.

After checking and unchecking the individual cells, turn Protect Sheet on and see what happens.
