    working with filters

i apologize, i couldnt come up w/ a more descriptive explanation for the subject line.

im working w/ about 400 lines of excel here. each line belongs to a class within a fund, and each fund belongs to a fund category (corporate, openend, mutual fund etc). each line also has a dollar value and tax percentage. at the bottom there's a total.

now under the main calculations and totals, i'd like a mirror image of all these showing up. instead of the above values though id want to calculate them at a new tax rate and subtract the tax that was allocated to them earlier. so far thats easy enough.

here's where things get complicated - when i filter to show only a certain type of category (eg mutual fund) i want the mirror image below to change as well. but that's not happening. how do i do this?

what i've done so far is at line 450 i said A450 = A2 and dragged it across. this works fine when my filters arent engaged and everything is showing. but of course when i only filter for mutual funds, which starts at row 200, line 450 is still showing corporate funds. can anyone advise?

    Re: working with filters

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!
    Hope that helps.
