    Text-wrap issue

    Hi,

Please see the excel sheet attached.

I have cells on the sheet that i want it to wrap the text and automatically make the row taller if needed - i can't seem to crack it. An example cell is E9:H9 (merged).

Could someone tell me how do do it?

    Many Thanks,

    Mark

    Hello Mark,

bad news: Merged cells do not respond to autofit of row height. Actually, merged cells do not respond well to a lot of things in Excel and should be avoided.

You will need to adjust the row height of the merged cell manually.

    Hi mark-ainsworth
a work-a-round is to size a cell (off screen and in the same row) to the same width as the meged cells. then text wrap that cell. it will auto size the merged area.

This will work, but I'd second the recommendation to avoid merged cells altogether - it will pay dividends in the long run!
