    Reoccuring Formulas

I have MS Office 2007 and I created a spreadsheet with several columns and a couple of simple addition formulas and sometimes Excel does a curious thing.

For example, I have 1 formula summing 4 columns and when I continue on the next row the formula follows suite with out me having to drag it down the column.

On the same worksheet, there is another formula simply subtracting one from another and it did not automatically carry down to the next row when I filled in the data.

What gives? I like it when I fill in the row and it continues the previous rows formula. It looks ugly if I drag the formula down then I have a funky *(#&$ or #DIV/0 error.

I tried looking for a previous post so if there is one and I have duplicated this, then I am sorry.

    Thanks for all your help.
