    Transpose-flip on its axis

It may not even be transpose that I am after, but basically i have a sheet that i want to flip on its axis. so all the rows become columns and all the columns become rows

    a1 stays put
    a2 becomes b2
    a3 becomes c3

and of course b2 would go to a2 and c3 to a3 and so on.

how on earth is this done ?

i have tried to follow the instructions on a site that explains transpose but not getting very far apart from having all the info placed in to strange categories!! whats all that about.

anyway anyone got a better way i can do this.

i now have excel2010 which i am still getting use to so please make it simple as possible for a newbie.

    cheers
