I can't seem to get Automatic Calculation to work. I've checked the button in Excel Options, but every time I restart the application, I'm back to manual (even though the button is still checked)
I don't understand why this is happening, and would appreciate some advice, please.
Welcome to the forum.
Look in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLStart\ for Book.xltx and Sheet.xltx.
If they are there, Open each (not the default action, New), set calculation to automatic, and save.

My XLStart Folder is empty!
Neither of the 2 files you mentioned is anywhere on my computer.
Do I need to re-install?

How did that file get created in the first place?

At some point you recorded a macro when calculation was set to manual, and selected Personal.xlsb as the home for it.
