how to leave some cells unlocked in protected sheet

I need all fields "locked" when the sheet is "protected" with the exception of:
Project info fields
check boxes
Reviewer names
When "protection" is turned on and a "check box" is checked, we get a script error.

Can you please determine how to protect this sheet without triggering an error?

I simply can not use this sheet unprotected your help woild be greatly appreciated!!
