    Merging cells/merging cell content.

    Afternoon,

I've inherited an awful spreadsheet which I need to make useable.

What would make my task much easier is if I could merge cells and keep the data from all of the merged cells. If I merge a group of cells it only keeps the information from the topmost cell.

So in essence, in Excel 2003 can I merge a group of cells and have excel merge the contents rather than just keeping the information from the top cell in the merged group?

    Thank you in advance.

    Never, ever merge cells

Merging cells can create problems in the future. It is not a good idea.

I know, I am the future in this case!

The spreadsheet I'm working with already has many merged cells. I need to get everything into a new spreadsheet without any merged cells so that it is usable. It is the most miserable thing I've had to do in ages.

Thanks for the link, that looks really useful. Ill report back if I can sort it.
