    cell format/action

I am inputing judges scores from a contest that are weighted differently to get a total. A judges score is three single digit numbers. I have everything working correctly. And would now like to format (if that the correct discription?) the cells so that after I input a number the curser will move to the next cell.

    If I understood you correctly,

You can select the yellow cells and go to Cells|Format and from the Protection tab, uncheck the Lock checkbox.

    Then go to Tools|Protection|Protect Sheet

And at the top, check only the Select Unlocked Cells. This will allow cursor to only occupy the yellow cells as you tab or click around.

(you can enter a password, if desired)
Where there is a will there are many ways.

thats it, thank you. So I needed to protect the rest of the cells, I was thinking I needed to arrange tab order for input like the old Front Range.

Is there a way that I can input these numbers without hitting TAB? These are single digit numbers in each cell.

    I don't think so....

Excel needs you to "confirm your entry" via Enter or Tab in each cell.
