    IRR funtion help

    Hi all,

I have created this IRR calculator which automtically sorts cashbooks and then allocates the correct figures into the computation column based on date and a few other variables.

My IRR function is in cell D9, and it is indexed to take into account the calculate from and to dates in cells D6 and D7 respectively.

I can see that this function is giving me incorrect results but I am stuck i terms of how to correct it.

Maybe it has something to do with using XIRR instead of IRR becasue the periods are not consecutive.

If anyone knows a bit about the IRR function, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have attached the file for perusal

    Cheers

I cannot open your file. Windows XP Pro tells me it's corrupted.

IRR requires regular consecutive periods. XIRR does not require periodic payments. So that is probably your problem.

I cannot open this in XP or in Vista. It gives me a message saying the file is invalid. How are you creating it?

Is the Excel file too big to attach unzipped?

The unzipped file is too large, Thanks martin, can you extract the file from his upload?

    Cheers
