Names in Excel Sheet - add values of names only

I had previously wrote on here to ask for help using this worksheet.
I thought it was solved, but alas, it is not.

I'm trying to make a worksheet that will calculate the hours worked by each employee. I'd like to create a formula that can recognize the name of the worker, followed by the hours they worked that day.

This would have worked great using the formula I previously had, but multiple employees do multiple jobs throughout the day, causing some employees to use up more rows than others (depending on what they did that day).

I'd like to know if there is a formula that will recognize it when the hours are imputed at the end and to put that info with the proper workers name.

I've attached a mock excel sheet if anyone could help.

    GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Lloyd's hours can be obtained using =SUMIF($C$2:$C$8,C3,$F$2:$F$8) ( format result as [h]:mm:ss - brackets are important)

Or you can use a Pivot Table if you have lots of employees

Re: Names in Excel Sheet - add values of names only

I'm trying to calculate the hours only that they've worked.
Would be great if I could create something that not only calculates their work hours, but also each customer's hours.

We work in a garage type setting and are manually adding the customer's charged hours as well as the employees work hours.

I bet a pivot table would work fantastically - if I only knew how to work it.

We have 5-6 employees (one part time, so they'd be added into the work sheet only when they are here).

any help on this would be extremely appreciated!!

Have you tried my suggestion? Where does it go wrong?
