before you protect the sheet select any cells you want to be editable and in format/cells/protection make sure they are not locked (ie uncheck the locked option)

Done that but once I reprotect the sheet the cursor does not tab to the unprotected cells in the order I need. I do I change that order?
afik tab tabs from left to right then down thats it
