    Pivot table Grand Totals

Question: can I change my grand totals to be a difference of sub totals rather than the sum of the sub totals?

    Hi Shane,

You should update your profile so we can see which version of Excel you are using. The answer is different for old vs new versions of Excel.

In Excel 2010 you can "Show Totals As" and you get many possibilities. I think I've done what you want by dragging the summation field to the sum area twice and then doing a difference between the two. Look through http://contextures.com/xlPivot13.html and its links to see if you find what you need, or...

A sample file with what you are wanting would prove or disprove my suggestion.
One test is worth a thousand opinions.
