Sum multiple cells, but exclude blank ones

I have a spreadsheet I have created to track my option trades. I am summing up each row, but don't want to include a cell that hasn't been inputed yet (don't want to add the sell column until I actually sell the security).

Right now it reads "=SUM(E5:L5)" But I don't want it to sum G5 until a number in input in that cell.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Not sure what your question is. If G5 is blank, then a sum including or excluding that cell would show the same result. Maybe there's a value in G5 but, since the security isn't sold, there's another column that you can reference (in a SUMIF) that indicates whether it was sold or not.

Or, provide an example in an attachment.
